The Isle of Purbeck is part of the Jurassic Coast which is a World Heritage Site and there are miles of coastal and country walks. There are attractions such as Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Studland Bay, Weymouth, Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island. A golf course is nearby at Studland with stunning views over to Poole and Brownsea Island. The town has a good range of small shops, restaurants, pubs and a small theatre, and the added attraction of its own steam train that runs to Corfe Castle.
